About me

I am Steve Mason. My day job is spent working on the JavaScript frontend of Brandwatch.

But for 7 years I was a backend .NET developer, and so have a deep understanding of the backend and experience in systems integration.

Currently I'm using a lot of node.js and this blog is one example of that. I have always been a proponent of web standards and have been working toward these as long as I have been coding.

Open Source work

I tend to dip in and out of open source projects as I find a need for various features in frameworks I use. I have contributed to the following projects:

• NoRM - contributed initial discriminator support
• N2CMS - contributed initial MVC templates (work sponsored by my employer at the time)

Personal

Fiance/future husband, adopted father of 2 long haired cats. Homeowner. Frequent movie-goer, occasional raver, annual snowboarder, music lover.
